DIGHT-Net Workshop: New Trends in Digital Culture Studies

We are pleased to announce the upcoming DIGHT-Net workshop, “New Trends in Digital Culture Studies”, which will take place on 12 October 2024 at Tallinn University. This workshop will provide a unique opportunity for scholars and researchers to explore emerging themes and methods in digital culture studies.

The day will begin with opening remarks at 11:00, followed by a keynote presentation by Professor Jussi Parikka (Aarhus University, Denmark / FAMU, Prague), titled “Ecology in Digital Culture, or: What the Planetary Scale Crisis Means for Our Methods?”. Further highlights include an introduction to new trends in digital culture studies presented by Mila Oiva, Petri Paju, and Hannu Salmi, all from the University of Turku, and a special invited talk by Professor Elizabeth Yakel (University of Michigan) on the topic of “Digital Cultural Heritage: Repair, Respect, Relationship”. The day will conclude with a general discussion and synthesis session, addressing challenges for the future of the DIGHT-Net project.
